Getting Started

–Is always the hardest thing to do.

I believe I have just about completed a solid interconnection of WordPress, Facebook, del.icio.us, Twitter and Flickr. Now I only have to write and post photos then we’re all set.

I have installed and setup WordPress instead of my own software (APE) so that I could better understand the current Web 2.0 world. It has been interesting to see that the basic structure of WordPress is similar to my own code but I wholly admit I am very impressed with its ease of use and the sophistication of the available Themes and Plugins.

I returned to having a Facebook profile after looking into it’s Applications infrastructure for a work project and have been having a great time integrating it with WordPress, Fickr and Twitter for status updates. Leo Laporte even added me as a Friend. Of course he is adding everyone until he hits the 5000 Friend limit but I will call it cool none the less.

What type of content to expect for posts here will probably vary wildly until I settle down into what I really want to be writing. I know for sure that it feels right to be setting it all up.

  • About Me

In the 1980′s I discovered computing and began tenaciously typing in BASIC programs from the back of magazines.
After nearly thirty years a computer has rarely been out of my reach. The focus of my work has been in software programming evolving from QuickBasic through VisualBasic, C++, and in the 1990′s as the Internet exploded into the mainstream I began a career working with HTML, CSS, PHP & Javascript. Along the way I graduated from college, worked within the government for a decade and assimilated a wide array of knowledge and experience.

While I work primarily as a web developer my continuing interest in problem solving keeps me current in many areas of computer and consumer technology. If you have a problem with a computer, device or just want to learn more; it is assured that I can help you find the answers and solutions you seek. It'a a great thing for me to help people get beyond their technical trouble.
