Cracked iPhone 3GS

By harold on in iPhone. Permalink.

Two years and a few iPhone’s later I finally figured out how to drop
one and shatter the screen in proper fashion.

Out it fell from my shirt pocket on to the sidewalk. It was dark but
helpfully the screen lit up as it clattered on the ground. Making it
very clear that this time there were consequences to my folly even
after dozens of other drops, slips and fumbles had previously been
forgiven.

Such as it’s a magical product from Apple it still functions flawlessly.

I was able to book an appointment at the store for tomorrow morning
and write this post while looking forward to how much more resale-able
a 3GS with new glass will be in July.

Maybe there’s a little pity for a phone under the 1 year warranty and
I won’t even pay for the repair.

Update: It’s fixed. It wasn’t free. Wah Wah.

  • About Me

In the 1980′s I discovered computing and began tenaciously typing in BASIC programs from the back of magazines.
After nearly thirty years a computer has rarely been out of my reach. The focus of my work has been in software programming evolving from QuickBasic through VisualBasic, C++, and in the 1990′s as the Internet exploded into the mainstream I began a career working with HTML, CSS, PHP & Javascript. Along the way I graduated from college, worked within the government for a decade and assimilated a wide array of knowledge and experience.

While I work primarily as a web developer my continuing interest in problem solving keeps me current in many areas of computer and consumer technology. If you have a problem with a computer, device or just want to learn more; it is assured that I can help you find the answers and solutions you seek. It'a a great thing for me to help people get beyond their technical trouble.
